Panama has two academic calendars which are the Panama calendar and the international calendar. The Panama calendar is from the end of February/Beginning of March until December, which means the summer is from mid-December until the end of February. The international calendar is from August until June, which means the summer is June and July.
In general, it is best to not travel to schools during November-January. November is when all of Panamas Patriotic holidays are and many of the schools are closed. In December there is also a significant increase in traffic around the city so we would recommend that traveling to Panama for the purpose of visiting students be avoided during this time. Also, in January most schools are still on break or resuming and it makes it very challenging to host schools during this month.
